Progress, not perfection as the AA Big Book says. In the Bible, “perfect” comes from the Greek “telios” which does not mean “flawless” but “our purpose is finished.” That is unlikely in this life. As Joan Erickson says, “There is no arriving, ever. It is all a continual becoming.”
